MEET JODY
Hello! My name is Jody Roper and I am one of your Northglenn City Council representatives for Ward 4.
I grew up in Brighton, CO and have lived in Northglenn since 2004, when my wife, Tina, and I bought our first home in Northglenn's Ward 2. Then, in 2015, we moved to our current home in Northglenn's Ward 4.
We have two children, Brady and Emmy - who both attended The Studio School Elementary, and I am currently the Principal at Thunder Vista P-8 in the Adams 12 Five Star School District.
My love for learning extends beyond the schools I have worked for or the children and staff I have served. Here are a few of my accomplishments:
-
Bachelor of Arts from Regis University in Denver, CO in Elementary Education.
-
Master of Arts in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO.
-
Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Regis University in Denver, CO.
-
And I am continuing my education as I work toward a Doctorate in Education.
I enjoy spending my free time outdoors whenever possible: tending to our zero-scaped butterfly garden; walking our dog, Scout, around the Charles C. Winburn Park; and experiencing the wonder and beauty of our Colorful Colorado! This summer, Scout and I have been taking courses so that she can become a Certified Therapy Dog!
Although Northglenn is physically bound by geography, we have enormous potential when we put people first. In this role, I represent all people of Ward 4, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or ability. Our individual differences, perspectives, and backgrounds are critically important in helping our community move into a healthy future for everyone.
